OUR CHOCOLATE

We take care to reduce packaging to the essentials and use renewable raw materials where possible.
With all the materials we use, we pay attention to recyclability and, wherever possible, fully recyclable use materials. In particular, our paper and cardboard materials are FCS certified and completely recyclable – just like our polypropylene chocolate foils.
Since 1991, we are using polypropylene for our film packaging. Compared to other types of packaging, it saves transport weight and due to its sealing properties, it protects our chocolate squares optimally. However, we are aware that the recycling rate for polypropylene, in particular, is unfortunately meager worldwide, which is why we are not satisfied with this.
The FSC seal certifies that the materials labeled with it are made with wood from sustainable forestry. The criteria are that the forests are used following the social, economic, and ecological needs of current and future generations. All our primary films have been assessed according to the "cradle-to-cradle" Material Health Standard since July 2020 and have the Material Health Bronze Status. It certifies that all the material ingredients are transparently listed and evaluated to optimize the materials' recyclability.
We still believe that a paper-based solution is the better recyclable packaging worldwide from today's perspective. Because: Paper is the material with the best known recycling cycle.
This is why we work hard with our partners on the development of paper packaging which can protect our chocolate from external influences and offer you the best taste.
