Like all food, our chocolate is subject to European guidelines. Directive 2000/36/EG of the European Parliament and European Council, from 23 June 2000, concerns cocoa and chocolate products for human diet. It was last revised in 2003.

Since then, it has been permitted, in all member countries of the European Union, to use up to 5% other vegetable fats in the production of chocolate.

You know us. If it concerns quality, we do not compromise. RITTER SPORT’S personal purity law regarding chocolate is, and remains, holy to us. We only use 100% pure cocoa butter in our chocolate masses. Cocoa butter substitute fats do not go into our chocolate masses.
