Further information:

Phosphorous is, after calcium, the most frequently occurring mineral in the human body. It is indispensable for humans. Organic phosphorous compounds are involved in nearly all life processes. They are important building blocks for all the body’s cells and for our genetic make-up. Phosphorus also plays a crucial role in energy production and utilisation.

An adult body contains an average of approximately 700g of phosphorus. Of that, approximately 85% is used for building bones and teeth. The rest is found in musculature, the brain, the liver and remaining organs, as well as in the blood.

Phosphorus mainly occurs in large quantities in food containing protein, such as cereals, meat, fish, milk, cheese, eggs, and leguminous plants.

Now for the good news for RITTER SPORT fans: Phosphorous is also present in cocoa butter. That means that we can let ourselves have that bit of chocolate after all!
