Grape sugar

Glucose is a monosaccharide (single sugar) that is present in freeform in only a few foods (e.g. grapes and honey). It is a component of polysaccharide starch, glycogen, and cellulose. In chocolate, it is particularly present in compound form in sucrose.

Glucose is of special importance for the brain and blood cells, which mainly fall back on this single sugar for their energy production. Furthermore, it is needed for the regeneration of our glycogen pool in the muscles and liver.

Glucose is absorbed much faster in comparison to other sugars.
