RITTER SPORT’s somewhat unusual corporate culture is characterised by sustainable economic management and social commitment. Along with a passion for chocolate, the focus lies on long-term success, preserving natural resources and keeping our employees satisfied, rather than on short-term profits.
Because of this attitude that has been prevalent for many years, we have now been awarded with the ÖKO-TREND Company Certificate. For more than 10 years now, the ÖKO-TREND Institute has been evaluating companies based on their corporate responsibility. In doing so, they take a close look at the following three categories:
1. Environmental responsibility:

In the “Environmental Responsibility” category, it is evaluated whether a company integrates environmental goals into its business processes and product development. Our certified environmental management system according to the Environmental Audit Ordinance, the in-house block heating station, solar plants and recyclable packaging were amongst the things that impressed the judges. In 1996, we were the first company in the sweets industry to organise environmental protection at a company level within the framework of a comprehensive management system.
2. Employee responsibility:

The implementation of employee responsibility is evaluated in the second rating criterion. This includes the advancement of and good conduct towards employees, a fair compensation model as well as an open and family-friendly management culture. The sustainability of the business model is also decisive in order to ensure the long-term survival of both the company and jobs.
3. Social responsibility:
The integration of social commitment into our mission statement and business processes as well as the effective support of social initiatives were evaluated in the third category.
Overall, we were awarded with a total of 91 of a maximum of 100 points and received the test rating of: “Very good”.
