Our principles


Our principles seek to create a bond of the trust between the company partners, the Advisory Committee, company senior management and all employees, and to ensure an authentic objective that reaches beyond day-to-day goals and guarantees that we act with focus in the long-term interests of the company.


Our brand is RITTER SPORT. This brand enjoys great confidence and affinity. It is thereby for us a great responsibility and asset in one. As the “chocolate concept with a difference” RITTER SPORT stands out amongst the competition with a clear brand image. Innovation is of the greatest importance to the preservation of our brand. We significantly invest in the reinforcement of our brand. Our aim is to make our products attractive to consumers and the trade, and keep them so. A huge challenge for RITTER SPORT is the further expansion of the European market is. Our goal is to persistently and constantly open up the European market and beyond that to develop our international market position.

Advertising claims are intended to convey security to the consumer, that by choosing our products he acquires high-quality luxury articles. We want to refer to the quality of our products, but not create unjustified expectations.

All of us who work at RITTER SPORT, regardless in which area or at what level, take pains to ensure that our products reach our customers in only the best possible quality. To this end we also employ a modern quality assurance system. We guarantee that in our manufacturing plants only perfect raw materials are used and that only RITTER SPORT worthy products reach the customer.

Our relationships with our business associates are characterised by fairness, trust and reliability. We want strategic alliances, if they are mutually rewarding.

Senior management at RITTER SPORT is required to systematically respond to staff members’ strengths and to support them in improving their qualifications and skills.

Our colleagues

We maintain a fair and cooperative relationship between the Works Council and Company Senior Management. Company Senior Management regularly informs and includes the Works Council in good time and as a matter of course in the planning of important issues. We pay close consideration to the concerns and issues of older and disabled employees.

We attach importance to a fair salary structure. To this end we apply, as objective as possible, appraisal procedures. We pay female employees the same for the same work and same performance as their male colleagues.

We want to create a company that offers equal opportunities for women and men. That is why we take into consideration the extra burdens created when working and raising a family. We want - wherever possible – to accommodate the needs of male and female staff by offering flexible working hours. We make coming back to work for male and female employees easier by providing the opportunity for part-time work or further training, also during parental leave.

We regularly conduct staff meetings. These provide an arena for the mutual exchange of information on duties, target achievments, teamwork, and a place to agree on further steps for the professional and personal development of employees. We promote teamwork as a means of solving tasks at many levels. We achieve our company targets together.

The protection of natural resources is one of the most pressing tasks of our time. We have a duty to act in an environmentally responsible manner.

Even though investing in the environment initially puts a strain on earnings, we are convinced that we will profit in the long term from the timely implementation of measures in this area. We therefore work in particular on improving production procedures, products, packing, and logistics, and are anxious to constantly further reduce emissions in our company. Energy-saving measures are taken when they do not cause more than 10% more costs than traditional methods.
